Site Coordinator – AfterSchool Program
The Concord Recreation Department seeks enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who love working with children for our School Age Childcare Program. Candidates must have experience working with children in grades k-5 with a background in education or a related field preferred. Candidates are required to meet EEC qualifications for Site Coordinator. The ideal candidate is flexible, willing to work as part of team and has the ability to help create and implement a fun and engaging curriculum. The successful candidate will manage and work directly with children in one of our elementary school sites. Some experience supervising staff is a preference. The successful candidate will have access to ongoing training and competitive compensation and have the opportunity to enroll their age-appropriate children in our program with no tuition cost. A free Beede Swim and Fitness Center membership and special discounted rates for other program are a benefit.
This is a 10-month school year position following the Concord Public School calendar from late August until mid-June (excludes school vacation weeks, professional days and holidays).
Work Schedule: After School Hours 3:00 - 6:00 PM Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, 12:00 - 6:00 PM Wed
Pay range: $25.50 - $32.00/hour; starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part-time position.

Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Education & School Programs and Recreation Supervisor, Site Coordinators oversee the functioning of one of our school age childcare sites. Site Coordinators are responsible for the supervision and management of school year staff at their site and students grades K-5 in the program while maintaining a classroom/group in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the Concord Recreation School Age Childcare Programs Program. This position works directly with children and staff.

- Ability to work in a high energy environment with students grades K-5.
- Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students and staff.
- Plan and implement curriculum, meeting the social-emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the children based on the goals, philosophy and general curriculum plan of the School Age Program.
- Manage the daily operation of the program site.
- Maintain written records of individual student progress.
- Communicate with parents and other staff through daily contact, newsletters, and conferences (as requested/required).
- Utilize positive guidance techniques in accordance with EEC guidelines and Concord Rec policy.
- Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and professional development training, as required by EEC and the School Age Director.
- Attend conferences and workshops (in person and online) to achieve personal goals and promote professional growth and to meet professional development requirements.
- Exhibit knowledge about and adhere to program policies and procedures, including those for emergencies, medication administration, suspected abuse/neglect and referrals
- Exhibit awareness of specific individual health plans and comply with plans, including required training (EPI pen administration, insulin pump operation, etc.).
- Ensure the health and safety of children through constant supervision, arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment and knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Communicate with parents and other staff through daily contact, newsletters, and conferences (as requested/required).
- Serve as a liaison with the elementary school principal and staff.
- Communicate daily with the Rec Supervisor and/or Director.
- Monitor daily attendance, including phone calls to parents when necessary.
- Operate the classroom/site in compliance with EEC regulations and DESE Standards.
- Ensure all staff are knowledgeable and comply with EEC policies and procedures.
- Comply with personnel policies of the Town of Concord, Concord Recreation and EEC/Childcare Programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work in a high-energy environment with children ages 2.9 – 5 years.
- Working knowledge of child development and teaching strategies.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 20 years of age and have at least a HS diploma.
- Must meet EEC work experience and education requirements for Site Coordinator Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or specific coursework meeting EEC requirements.
- Must have completed EEC Essentials 2.0 Training prior to start.
- Must comply with EEC Background Records Check regulations and Professional Qualification Registry. requirements. Must have a suitable BRC.
- Must complete a staff orientation.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
