Physical Education Teacher Port St. Lucie

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Middle School Teacher to join our vibrant educational community in Port St. Lucie. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative PE curricula that incorporate sports coaching experience, physical fitness, and health education tailored to middle school students.
  • Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and promote active participation.
  • Manage classroom responsibilities efficiently, including behavior management, classroom organization, and ensuring safety protocols are followed during activities.
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth through public speaking and leadership opportunities.
  • Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing methods and provide constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Incorporate learning technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding of physical education concepts.
  • Mentor students in extracurricular sports programs, offering guidance on athletic skills, teamwork, and personal discipline.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, educational compliance, and regulation adherence to maintain high standards of teaching excellence.
  • Support literacy education by integrating creative writing or communication skills into health or sports-related projects when appropriate.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education needs, Montessori methods, or other relevant educational approaches.

Experience

  • Proven classroom management skills with experience working with children and teenagers in a middle school setting.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching physical education with a focus on sports coaching experience and working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience developing curriculum that aligns with state standards and standardized testing requirements for middle school education.
  • Background in teaching physical education at private or public schools is preferred; familiarity with Montessori or special education frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for effective public speaking, academic advising, and collaborating with parents or guardians.
  • Knowledge of learning technology tools used in modern classrooms to support physical education instruction.
  • Prior experience mentoring students in extracurricular activities such as sports teams or fitness clubs is highly desirable.
