Front Desk Supervisor – Dermatology Practice

Location: McLean and Vienna, VA

We are seeking a motivated, patient-focused Front Desk Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our busy dermatology practice's front office. This role is ideal for someone with previous medical front desk leadership experience or a recent Healthcare Administration graduate who is eager to grow into a leadership position while learning the operational side of a thriving specialty practice.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and support front desk staff to ensure exceptional patient service and efficient daily operations.
  • Lead by example in providing a welcoming, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, coaching, and training new front office team members.
  • Monitor schedules, staffing coverage, and workflow to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate patient registration, insurance verification, referrals, and appointment scheduling.
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Monitor front desk performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Collaborate closely with providers, medical assistants, billing, and leadership to improve office operations.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and adherence to practice policies and procedures.
  • Assist with administrative projects and other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical front desk experience in a healthcare setting ORBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field with a strong desire to build a career in healthcare leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office.

Preferred

  • Prior supervisory, lead, or management experience.
  • Dermatology or specialty practice experience.
  • Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.
