Paralegal Wills, Trusts, Estates

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Wills, Trusts, and Estates practice in New Providence, NJ. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is interested in supporting attorneys through a combination of legal, administrative, and research-based work. The Paralegal will play an important role in document preparation and review, client and witness interaction, legal research, case organization, and trial preparation when needed.

In this position, the Paralegal will work closely with attorneys, clients, and other
professionals on assigned matters and projects. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents such as routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, as well as filing motions and pleadings in accordance with judicial procedures. The role also involves researching statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources, then providing written analysis and support to attorneys. The Paralegal will maintain organized case files, ensure paper records are promptly uploaded into the electronic system, and help keep all correspondence and supporting materials properly catalogued and accessible. Additional duties include tracking and maintaining billable hours, providing administrative support related to billing, and assisting with trial and hearing preparation as applicable.

Recent graduates or alums of the Paralegal Studies program are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
• Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals regarding assigned cases or projects
• Perform billable work as directed by attorneys
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories
• File motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
• Conduct legal research and provide written analysis to attorneys
• Interact with clients as needed to complete assigned work
• Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files and legal materials
• Upload paper files into the electronic records system promptly
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, and trials as applicable
• Maintain records of billable hours spent on specific matters
• Support administrative tasks related to entering, auditing, and managing billable hours
• Ensure records, correspondence, and supporting materials are organized and accessible electronically
• Perform additional duties as assigned
 

Qualifications
• Recent graduates or alumni of the Paralegal Studies program are encouraged to apply
• Strong organizational, administrative, and research skills preferred
• Interest in legal support work within a trusts and estates practice
