Hold or be willing to obtain Infant CPR and basic first aid certification within the first month of employment.
Bring experience in early childhood education, childcare, or a related caregiving role.
Have the ability to develop age-appropriate programming that nurtures wonder and UU identity.
Be a collaborative team member, comfortable working alongside staff and volunteers across age groups.
Demonstrate core competencies as listed below.

Provide warm, consistent care for infants and toddlers — including feeding, diapering, soothing, potty support, and attending to emotional well-being.
Cultivate continuity of care so our youngest children feel genuinely at home in our congregation.
Develop and lead age-appropriate programming that nurtures wonder, belonging, and early UU identity.
Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for infants and toddlers at all times.
Uphold Safe Congregation policies in all interactions and environments.
Curriculum & Collaboration:
Participate in the annual RE curriculum planning retreat to establish shared themes across all age groups.
Stay in ongoing conversation with RE teachers throughout the year to align programming and reinforce shared themes.
Support Sunday Morning Programs for all youth as needed.
Provide childcare and supervision at congregational events.
Participate in intergenerational programming and the December holiday celebration service.
Community & Communication:
Communicate regularly with families, offering care updates and building trust as a consistent presence.
