Who We Are & What You’ll Do

Denver International Airport (DEN) is the third-busiest airport in the United States and one of the top ten busiest airports in the world, connecting our community globally through flight and business. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $47.2 billion for the region annually and employing nearly 37,000 people. At DEN, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace. We celebrate individuality and uplift all races, ethnicities, gender identities, national origins, ages, abilities, religion, and LGBTQIA+ communities. We know that our diversity makes us stronger, and we strive to keep diversity, equity and inclusion at the center of all that we do.

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst supports geospatial technologies at Denver International Airport (DEN) by maintaining authoritative spatial data; supporting enterprise GIS applications; and assisting with the administration and optimization of DEN’s geospatial platform. This isn't your traditional GIS role! You'll support a complex airport environment where your work directly influences infrastructure, operations, planning, and emergency response. You'll see the impact of your work in the field while helping modernize DEN's geospatial systems through automation and enterprise GIS initiatives.

This position contributes to the continued development of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Indoors, and supports airport divisions by maintaining spatial databases; publishing and troubleshooting GIS services; developing web-based GIS solutions; and helping integrate geospatial data with critical airport systems.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, collaborative, technically curious, and comfortable working in an enterprise GIS environment. This person should be able to maintain high-quality spatial datasets; support Portal and Server-based GIS applications; contribute to indoor mapping and airport infrastructure workflows; and communicate technical GIS concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users.

Key responsibilities will include:

Develop and maintain authoritative geospatial datasets to ensure accuracy, reliability, and alignment with operational needs.

Conduct spatial analysis to support airport operations, planning, design, construction, facilities, environmental management, safety, emergency response, and strategic decision-making.

Design, configure, and maintain web maps, dashboards, reports, and interactive GIS applications through ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, Dashboards, Field Maps, Survey123, SiteScan, and other related Esri tools.

Publish, configure, and maintain GIS services, including hosted and referenced feature layers, map image layers, web maps, and other ArcGIS Server-based services.

Support ArcGIS Enterprise Portal content management, including item documentation, sharing permissions, groups, metadata, naming standards, and retirement of outdated content.

Support ArcGIS Server service configuration, including capabilities, sharing settings, editor tracking, sync, pop-ups, symbology, labeling, scale visibility, and data refresh workflows.

Coordinate updates to the Airport Layout Plan and related airport datasets, collaborating with internal stakeholders to support accuracy, consistency, and FAA compliance.

Assist with updates to ArcGIS Indoors derived from CAD, BIM, as-built drawings, stakeholder input, and space management information.

Support CAD-to-GIS and BIM-to-GIS workflows for facility information, airport infrastructure, and indoor spaces.

Create and maintain Arcade expressions to support labeling, symbology, pop-ups, and user experience environments.

Assist in administering GIS platforms, including user management, troubleshooting, and system updates.

Ensure compliance with FAA, GIS, and IT standards, data governance policies, cybersecurity requirements, accessibility standards, and best practices.

Assist in integrating GIS technology with enterprise applications to improve workflow automation, data accessibility, reporting, and decision-making processes.

Provide technical guidance, GIS training, documentation, and end-user support to staff and stakeholders.

Stay current with emerging GIS technologies, Esri platform capabilities, and geospatial trends to enhance system capabilities.

What You’ll Bring

We value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels. You'll be right at home here if you cultivate strong relationships and push yourself, your work, the people around you and Denver to the next level.

We are seeking a geospatial professional who is eager to learn and contribute to the dynamic environment of a large and complex airport environment; and who understands the importance that maintaining existing infrastructure is crucial for the development goals of our airport.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, such as Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, enterprise service publishing, and content management, is highly preferred.

Ability to communicate technical GIS concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience evaluating existing policies, procedures, and objectives, and recommending changes for improvement.

Experience with the Esri software suite.

Experience maintaining GIS data in structure databases, enterprise geodatabases, relational databases, or multi-user editing environments.

Familiarity with automation tools such as FME, Python, Arcade, SQL, ModelBuilder, or other scripting and data processing is preferred but not required.

Familiarity with Autodesk products (Civil 3D, AutoCAD) is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of FAA regulations and airport operations is desired but not required.

IT background is helpful but not required. Candidates with experience in information technology, database administration, systems support, automation, or enterprise application administration are encouraged to apply if you also have experience working with GIS platforms.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
