Assistant Paralegal

Job Overview:


We are seeking an energetic and highly organized early-career professional to join our team as an Assistant Paralegal. This role provides a unique opportunity to assist attorneys and Senior Paralegals with the preparation and filing of immigrant petitions and applications with a heavy focus on employment-based immigration.

The Assistant Paralegal will work directly with our attorneys and Senior Paralegals to provide critical legal support in a range of immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more. Our office building in Livingston, NJ includes free parking, a café, game room with TVs, as well as a gym (free access to all employees). The starting salary will range from $45,000 to $48,000, commensurate with experience.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities:


• Gather, organize and critically review documentation to help devise case strategy;
• Draft case documents including government forms and support letters, and organize exhibits in support of visa applications;
• Assist with the preparation of visa applications across U.S. consular posts around the world;
• Assist with the preparation of permanent residence (green card) applications;
• Provide case support to attorneys and senior paralegals including photocopying, scanning, and transmittal of documents to government agencies and clients;
• Communicate with clients by email and telephone;
• Monitor developments in immigration law and policy;


Required Qualifications:


• This is fully in office position: Must be able to report to Livingston, NJ office 5 days per week
• While prior experience in business immigration or a fast-paced legal environment is preferred, strong entry-level candidates will be considered
• Strong self-starter with exceptional organization skills, writing skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills
• Thrives in a collaborative environment, takes initiative when priorities shift, and stays composed managing multiple tasks across a busy team
• Must have a genuine interest in immigration law
