Job Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist I to support purchasing and supply management activities while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and company standards. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate the timely, accurate, and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and process purchase orders (POs) for assigned categories.
- Support PO approvals within delegated authority limits.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve procurement and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, deliveries, and performance.
- Assist with supplier performance tracking and reporting.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvement projects.
- Prepare bid documents and assist with routine sourcing activities.
- Provide administrative support for Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and procurement projects.
- Educate internal customers on procurement processes, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, Fieldglass, or other procurement systems.
- Basic knowledge of supplier management and contract administration.
- Understanding of sourcing strategies and category management.
- Experience supporting procurement or purchasing operations in a corporate environment.
