Middle School Art Teacher

Are you a passionate visual arts educator ready to inspire the next generation of creatives? Ottawa Middle School is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and certified Middle School Art Teacher for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.

In this role, you will foster a safe, supportive, and innovative studio environment where students in grades 6–8 can explore their unique creative identities.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and implement an engaging, age-appropriate art curriculum that covers aesthetics, art history, and cultural relevance.

Medium Variety: Instruct students in diverse mediums including drawing, painting, ceramics, 3D design, and modern digital art techniques.

Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, well-stocked, and safe studio environment; manage and inventory art supplies.

Community Engagement: Display and rotate student artwork across campus and help coordinate seasonal school art exhibitions.

Collaboration: Build positive relationships with students, parents, and administration; participate in faculty meetings and professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Valid State Teaching Certification with a Visual Arts endorsement (grades 6–8).

Strong communication, empathy, and classroom management skills suited for middle school dynamics.

Proficiency with both traditional studio tools and basic digital art platforms is preferred.
