Job Title: Multi-Tiered systems of Support School Social Worker, Up to $10k 2026/27 Sign on Bonus Available!
Job Summary:
The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Social Worker utilizes leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to implement a data-driven multi-tiered system of support that addresses students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. They collect and analyze data to guide interventions, provide direct support through individual and group services, and consult with educators and families to enhance student success. Additionally, they coordinate with community agencies, assist families in navigating the educational system, and ensure the implementation of effective intervention strategies to promote positive student outcomes.
Essential Functions (May include, but not limited to):
1. Collect, evaluate, and utilize student data to inform intervention strategies and recommend modifications to support academic and behavioral success.
2. Design and implement tiered interventions, providing consultation to general and special education teachers and case management for students requiring multiple services.
3. Participate in student support team meetings, MTSS meetings, and parent conferences to develop and monitor student progress.
4. Manage and analyze student data to track academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
5. Meet with the MTSS Supervisor to report student progress and track intervention effectiveness.
6. Provide staff with research based, data-driven intervention strategies to support student learning and behavior.
7. Collaborate with the building principal and professional learning communities to identify training and support needs for general education students with behavioral challenges.
8. Conduct home visits and coordinate with community organizations to provide additional support for students and families.
9. Assist parents and families in navigating and fully participating in their child’s educational experience.
10. Provide individual and group counseling services to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
11. Utilize behavior management techniques to promote a positive learning environment.
12. Ensure compliance with district policies and procedures within school building.
13. Maintain detailed records of student encounters, interventions, and required documentation.
14. Develop and implement plans to enhance student success and overall well-being.
15. Identify and report child abuse and neglect cases as required by law.
16. Mobilize school and community resources to support students’ academic and personal development.
17. Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to provide additional services for students and families.
18. Coordinate services and referrals for individual students and their families to optimize their learning potential.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from accredited college or university.
Must hold one of the following qualifications
- Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC)
- Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC)
- School Social Worker Permit (SSWP)
Skills:
Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and requirements. Ability to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of children suspected of being emotionally impaired and autism spectrum disordered. Ability to provide appropriate direct or indirect treatment services to individuals, groups, families, and the school community. Ability to work with community resources and make appropriate referrals. Ability to establish effective working relationships in a multi-discipline setting with parents, students, building principals and school staff. Knowledge of how factors such as family, culture, socio economic status and physical and mental health can affect student’s performance. Demonstrated instructional consultation skills including outstanding organization and communication.

Must comply with the Student Safety Initiative Legislation, as amended. Newly hired staff are required to successfully complete the following pre-employment screenings: 1) Criminal background check, including national and local clearance.
