Company Description
Fylm TV is a creator economy platform offering a Netflix-style viewing experience, curating high-quality independent films, shorts, and series while giving filmmakers built-in monetization and audience engagement tools. As films gain views, revenue, and engagement, IP buyers and studios can track traction to pursue acquisition deals through the platform. We operate on a freemium model and generate revenue through advertising, subscriptions, and marketplace commissions of merch and IP deals.
As part of our mission to support independent creators, we are building the Filmmaker Helping Filmmaker community, a space where filmmakers, creators, and film enthusiasts can connect, share resources, ask questions, collaborate, and learn from one another. The community primarily lives on Discord, with additional engagement on Facebook.
Role Description
This part-time remote role is for a Film Discord Community Manager. The individual will be responsible for helping manage, moderate, and grow the Filmmaker Helping Filmmaker community across Discord and Facebook. This role includes welcoming new members, encouraging meaningful conversations, moderating discussions, sharing relevant updates, and helping create a positive and supportive environment for filmmakers.

Key Responsibilities
- Moderate the Filmmaker Helping Filmmaker Discord community to ensure a respectful, welcoming, and productive environment
- Welcome new members and help them understand the community, channels, and guidelines
- Engage with community members by starting conversations, responding to questions, and encouraging participation
- Share relevant film-related resources, discussion prompts, events, opportunities, and Fylm TV updates
- Help maintain community guidelines and address inappropriate behavior when needed
- Support community engagement on Facebook in addition to Discord
- Identify active members, potential collaborators, and opportunities to strengthen the community
- Provide feedback to the Fylm TV team on community needs, questions, and engagement trends
- Help create a positive space where filmmakers can connect, learn, and support one another
Qualifications
- Experience managing or participating actively in Discord communities
- Strong interest in film, filmmaking, independent media, or creator communities
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with members in a friendly, professional, and authentic way
- Strong judgment and comfort moderating online discussions
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Familiarity with Facebook Groups or online community management is a plus
- Previous experience as a moderator, community manager, filmmaker, content creator, or film student is a plus
- Passion for helping filmmakers connect, collaborate, and grow
