R2026105722 Conference & Events Services- Event Registration Assistant (Open)

Position Summary:

Under the close supervision of a professional team member, the student Event Registration Assistant will serve in a position that executes administrative duties, provides superior front-line customer service, and assists and supports registration operations. The student accepted into this position will work directly with campus partners, CES professional staff, and conference registrants daily and be expected to perform with a high level of professionalism. This position delivers superior customer service for various events throughout the year (largely in the summer months). Terms of employment is August 2026 through August 2027, with an option to pursue continuous employment contingent upon mutual agreement between employee and CES supervisor(s).

Required Job Qualifications:

1. Must be a CSU student, enrolled in a degree seeking program, in good disciplinary standing with The University

2. One (1) year general office & clerical experience including the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Outlook, Word & Excel)

Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills

Ability to problem solve

Ability to successfully meet deadlines

Flexible and willing to handle a wide variety of tasks in a detail-oriented fashion

Professionalism expressed in actions and appearance at all times

3. Interest in the event planning, hospitality, and tourism industry

4. Self-motivated, self-confident, and resourceful

5. Ability to work with a diverse group of local, state, and national group attendees

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

1. Knowledge and awareness of resources on the CSU Campus and within the Fort Collins community

2. Ability to work independently with little supervision, handling multiple deadlines and projects

4. Must be able to occasionally lift and push/pull up to 40lbs

 

Essential Duties:

1. General office and clerical duties including-

Answering and responding to phone calls

Greeting guests

directing office traffic

Responding to emails

Producing and updating forms

Office inventory, filing, etc

Provide front desk assistance and coverage

2. Conference and Event assistance

On-site registration assistance for conferences (may require same-day travel)

Preparation for on-site registration: stuffing & printing name badges, ribbons, tickets, conference portfolios & materials

Conference participant data entry, invoicing, collecting/processing payments, receipt distribution

Ensure Payment Card Industry Date Security Standards (PCI DSS) compliance with all registration processes and procedures

Communicate event information to participants via phone, email, and in-person

3. Various project assistance for CES Professional staff as needed

4. Serve as an ambassador to guests on behalf of the University and Conference & Events Services

5. Other duties as assigned
