Position Summary
The Training Specialist I supports staff onboarding, training, competency development, and ongoing professional growth with a primary focus on on-site clinic support. This role helps ensure team members understand company expectations, clinical and administrative workflows, documentation standards, client service procedures, clinic routines, and role-specific responsibilities.
The Training Specialist I provides hands-on support in the clinic setting. This may include modeling procedures, reviewing workflows, observing staff performance, providing structured feedback, supporting training checklists, assisting with retraining, and helping maintain consistent service expectations within the clinic environment.

Lead Training Specialist, Clinical Director, or assigned supervisor
Supervises
This position does not directly supervise staff unless otherwise assigned.
Essential Duties
- Support new hire onboarding and role-specific training.
- Provide training on company policies, documentation standards, service expectations, and professional conduct.
- Review clinical and administrative workflows with staff.
- Model appropriate implementation of assigned procedures and job duties.
- Observe staff performance and provide supportive, structured feedback.
- Track training progress, checklist completion, and competency development.
- Support staff retraining when performance concerns, documentation errors, or workflow concerns are identified.
- Assist with developing and updating training materials, guides, handouts, and competency tools.
- Communicate training concerns, barriers, or support needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Reinforce expectations related to attendance, communication, documentation, client care, clinic routines, and professionalism.
- Collaborate with supervisors to identify individual and team training needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all company, client, and HIPAA-related privacy expectations.
On-Site Clinic Support Duties
- Provide in-person training and support to staff working in the clinic setting.
- Support new staff during clinic-based onboarding, shadowing, and skill development.
- Model professional conduct, client engagement, clinic routines, and service expectations.
- Observe staff implementation and provide immediate coaching or feedback when appropriate.
- Support staff with understanding clinic procedures, client transitions, materials use, documentation expectations, and daily routines.
- Assist with competency checks, follow-up training, and implementation support.
- Help identify repeated training needs, workflow barriers, or staff support needs within the clinic.
- Communicate clinic-based training concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Support consistency, professionalism, and treatment integrity across clinic-based services.
- Assist with maintaining a structured, organized, and professional clinic environment.
Telehealth Support Expectations
- Telehealth support may be used when appropriate and approved for meetings, documentation review, staff follow-up, or training support.
- Clients, staff, or teams assigned outside of the Training Specialist I’s primary clinic or region may be supported through telehealth when needed.
- Telehealth support may include virtual observation, coaching, feedback, documentation review, and follow-up meetings.
- Telehealth duties must be completed in a private, secure, and professional environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in ABA, behavioral health, education, training, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach, model, and explain procedures clearly.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback professionally.
- Strong organization and follow-through.
- Comfort using telehealth platforms, email, shared documents, and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, clinicians, administrative staff, and direct service staff.
- Ability to provide consistent in-person support in a clinic setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting staff onboarding, training, or competency development.
- Experience providing feedback, modeling job duties, or supporting implementation fidelity.
- Familiarity with ABA service delivery, clinical documentation, and staff training systems.
- Strong writing skills and ability to organize training information clearly.
- Demonstrated professionalism when supporting staff in clinic-based, in-person, and telehealth settings.
