Child Care Teacher Assistant (PRN)

Child Care Teacher Assistant PRN – Charlotte, NC

Schedule: As needed PRN schedule 

Monday through Friday - availability required between 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Join our team at Novant Health as a Child Care Teacher Assistant, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting classroom activities and ensuring a warm, safe, and engaging learning experience for every child.

  • NC DHHS Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter/Qualifying Letter

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily classroom activities and routines.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Support the center’s goals, guidelines, and standards of excellence.

 

Education:  High School or GED, required. Credentials EDU 119 or equivalency as defined by DHHS Education Workforce, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

  • NC CDL License, preferred.
  • Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required.
  • ITS SIDS within 2 months of hire, required.
  • BSAC (Basic School Age) for those working with school age children, required.
  • DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background letter, required.

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):

  • NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter
  • NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire
  • NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire
  • CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
  • Maintain training hours requirements as outlined by the Division of Child Development

Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):

  • The ability to work a variety of work schedules and to work effectively in all classrooms within the centers.
