FWS - IDES Department Assistant

As an Interior Design department assistant, you will be trained to specialize in  the following responsibilities, with the opportunity to grow in the role:

 

Model Shop Monitoring:

Monitoring the model shop and teaching/supporting students on the use of model shop equipment, including the laser cutter.

 

Qualification for Monitoring: Knowledge of shop usage and tool or the capability of being trained for appropriate knowledge. Training provided.

 

Priority will be given to candidates interested in model shop monitoring, but will also be considered for the following roles if applicable:

 

Materials Library Assisting:

Assisting faculty in curating, organizing, cataloging, and sourcing materials in the library for the Interior Design department.

 

Qualification for Library Assisting: Experience with the materials library or similar environment. Training provided.

 

AutoCAD/Revit Tutoring:

Providing AutoCAD/Revit assistance to undergrad and graduate students

 

Qualifications for Tutoring: Tutors must meet a grade requirement: Undergraduates interested this position should have received a 'B' or higher in IDES 302 and an 'A' in IDES 312. Graduate students interested in this role should have received an 'A' in IDES 502 and IDES 512. Tutors also have a Portfolio requirement: A portfolio with at least one Revit project is required. Training provided.

 

Will work with individual class schedule and is flexible to nights, weekends, and evenings as appropriate to responsibilities. Length of hours will be determined by the amount of work study award left in the academic year. Max amount of hours: 20 (contingent on work study award)
