Artistic Intern

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation of the artistic-production timeline at FGO.
  • Pull existing supertitles, assist in translating new English titles, coordinate Spanish translations, and layout the calling book.
  • Update industry resource sheets, including contact lists for opera companies and managers.
  • Provide basic assistance at FGO performance events.
  • Assist FGO staff with hospitality services given to visiting artists (welcome bags, artist dinner, etc.)
  • Help coordinate dress rehearsal attendance for local middle, high school, and university groups.
  • Perform clerical duties, maintain files, and organize documents; photocopy, fax, etc. as needed.

Additional Details:

  • Artistic Interns will be led by Company Manager, Dr. Jen Tipton, and Artistic Operations Manager, Victoria Mejia. Additional support will be provided by Education and Social Entrepreneurship Associates, Kali Fong and Matthew Reber.
  • All internships are part-time positions. Interns work in office 15-25hrs per week.

Intern Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit.
  • Able to read and understand musical scores
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Appreciation for the performing arts
  • Italian and Spanish language proficiency not required but is a plus.

Please note that this is an unpaid internship opportunity. Applicants must be available for the entirety of the semester. The Fall Semester runs from September 14th to December 18th.
