Middle School Assistant Principal

Hanover Public School District is seeking a dynamic, highly organized Middle School Assistant Principal (Act 93) to champion a safe, positive, and vibrant school culture. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the unique energy of grades 5–8, we want you on our team!

 

The Role at a Glance

  • Student Culture & Discipline: Serve as the primary leader for student behavior, balancing firm, equitable accountability with proactive PBIS and restorative practices.
  • Attendance Intervention: Monitor attendance and oversee Student Attendance Improvement Plans (SAIP) in compliance with PA Act 138.
  • Staff Evaluation: Act as a key instructional leader, evaluating approximately 50% of professional staff (Danielson Framework) and the majority of the building's support staff.
  • Athletics & Activities: Direct the middle school sports and extracurricular programs, ensuring student eligibility and providing administrative coverage at events.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Valid Pennsylvania Principal K-12 Certification.
  • 3–5 years of successful public school teaching experience (middle school experience preferred).
  • All required clean PA Clearances (Acts 34, 151, 114, 168).
  • Deep familiarity with PA Act 13 (Educator Effectiveness) and PA Safe Schools reporting.
  • An approachable, visible leadership style and a sense of humor.
