JOB SUMMARY:
The Budget & Finance Intern will assist the City’s Budget Office with basic office tasks, data entry, and project support. This position offers an introduction to how local government manages its finances and prepares the annual budget.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Helps organize and update spreadsheets and budget files.
• Assists with scanning, copying, and filing documents.
• Enters data into tracking systems and check for accuracy.
• Helps prepare charts, tables, and other visuals for reports.
• Supports special projects and events as needed.
• Performs other office duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Current high school or college student in good academic standing.
• Interest in learning about government, budgeting, or finance.
 

REQUIRED SKILLS (Communication/Language; Mathematical; Computer; etc.):
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work well with others and follow directions.

The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull to reach various items. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
