The Role:
We are seeking passionate Optical Engineers to join our cutting-edge R&D teams. You will work on next-generation technologies including XR Displays, Computational Imaging, Metasurfaces, and Semiconductor Inspection Systems. We have multiple openings across the US and Asia.
Open Specializations:
1. Optical Design (XR & Display Systems)
Design and develop optical systems for AR/VR displays.
Manage the full lifecycle: component selection, procurement, outsource manufacturing, and mass production troubleshooting.
Requirement: Strong foundation in Geometrical Optics & Aberration Theory; experience with optical metrology is a plus.
2. Optical Algorithm (Deep Learning & Inverse Design)
Develop automated algorithms and inverse design frameworks for optical structures.
Build and train Deep Learning models (TensorFlow/PyTorch) for optical applications.
Requirement: Proficiency in Python/Matlab; experience with optical simulation tools (Zemax, Code V) is preferred.
3. Metasurface & Waveguide (Advanced Display)
Explore Metasurface/Metalens applications in micro-displays; lead technical roadmap validation.
Integrate metasurfaces with display systems and solve complex integration challenges.
Requirement: Master’s or PhD preferred; hands-on experience with waveguide structure design and FDTD/simulation tools.
4. Imaging Design & Assembly (Semiconductor Metrology)
Design high-NA microscope systems (Bright-field, Dark-field, Confocal) for wafer inspection.
Perform modeling, tolerance analysis (Zemax/Code V), and system debugging.
Requirement: Strong mathematical background; experience with semiconductor tools or lens design research is a plus.
5. Optical Simulation (Machine Vision)
Design lighting sources and complex imaging paths for photometric stereo and phase deflection systems.
Define technical specifications for vision hardware.
Qualifications (General):
Majors: Optical Engineering, Precision Instrument, Physics, EE, Materials, or related fields.
Strong understanding of physical optics, interference, and diffraction.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across mechanical/electrical teams.
Fluent in English (working language); Chinese proficiency is a bonus but not required.
