What You'll Do:

  • Conduct in-depth research on Italian-American history, neighborhoods, partnerships, and community development opportunities.
  • Build relationships with nonprofit organizations, business owners, elected officials, schools, cultural organizations, and community leaders throughout the Midwest and New York.
  • Assist in developing strategic initiatives that strengthen communication between Little Italy in the Midwest
  • Assist with marketing, branding, storytelling, and social media campaigns.
  • Think creatively and contribute fresh ideas that help move projects forward.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

  • Passionate about nonprofit work and community impact.
  • Business-minded and interested in sustainable growth.
  • Naturally curious and enjoys deep-dive research.
  • Comfortable reaching out to new people and building meaningful relationships.
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects.
  • A quick learner who enjoys solving problems.
  • Creative, innovative, and willing to think outside the box.
  • Professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology, social media, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Excited to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Italian or Italian-American heritage, or a genuine interest in learning about Italian-American history and culture.
  • Interest in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, public relations, history, political science, event management, urban planning, or community development.
  • Experience in leadership roles, volunteer organizations, student organizations, or community service is a plus—but not required.

What You'll Gain:

  • Hands-on nonprofit leadership experience.
  • Networking opportunities with community leaders and professionals across multiple states.
  • Experience in research and marketing.
  • Professional mentorship.
  • The opportunity to help preserve and strengthen Italian-American communities for generations to come.
  • A portfolio of meaningful projects with measurable impact.

Who Thrives Here:

We're looking for people who don't wait to be told what to do. You ask questions. You seek solutions. You build relationships. You take initiative. You care about making a lasting difference and understand that preserving culture isn't just about honoring the past—it's about creating a stronger future.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear your story.
