Special Education Teacher

As a Special Educator at Strides Therapy & Educational Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating closely with a team of fellow Special Educators, your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to enhance students' communication and language development within educational settings across Alaska.

• Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement customized instructional plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on communication and language skills.
• Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other Special Educators (Exceptional Student Educators) and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement.
• Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate student success and address any concerns or challenges.
• Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and research in special education to enhance your skills and knowledge continuously.

Additional Details:* This is a hybrid Special Educator position that combines remote services with periodic on-site support. The selected candidate will primarily work remotely; however, the district requests in-person visits approximately 2-4 times per year, with each visit lasting 2-3 weeks. These on-site visits may include conducting evaluations, attending meetings, collaborating with school teams, and providing direct support to students and staff as needed.
