New Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and highly professional Administrative Assistant to support our growing behavioral health programs. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, strong communication flow, and excellent service to staff, families, and community partners.
The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in maintaining an efficient, welcoming, and responsive office environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.
About the Role
This position supports program leadership and clinical teams through administrative coordination, communication, scheduling, and office management tasks. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a professional, engaging presence—especially when interacting by phone and email with families, staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to program and leadership staff
- Answer and direct phone calls with a professional and engaging phone presence
- Manage scheduling, calendars, meetings, and conference room coordination
- Support document preparation, data entry, filing, and record maintenance
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, families, and community partners
- Assist with onboarding, HR-related tasks, and office coordination as needed
- Maintain organized and accurate program records and documentation
- Support daily office operations and ensure a smooth workflow
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Professional and engaging phone presence
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling systems, etc.)
- Bilingual skills strongly preferred (English/Spanish or other languages)
- Prior administrative, office support, or behavioral health setting experience preferred
Compensation
- $22–$24 per hour, based on experience
