In-School Coding & Robotics Instructor (Grades 4–5)

Compensation: $80-85 per session

 

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Coding & Robotics Instructor to lead engaging in-school enrichment classes for students in Grades 4–5. This role is ideal for educators and STEM professionals who enjoy inspiring students through hands-on technology, coding, and robotics experiences.

Instructors will guide students through interactive lessons that introduce programming, computational thinking, engineering design, and robotics using age-appropriate platforms and project-based learning. The goal is to make technology accessible, engaging, and fun while helping students build confidence as creators and problem-solvers.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging Coding & Robotics classes for Grades 4–5 students.
  • Teach foundational coding concepts through beginner-friendly programming platforms such as Scratch and other age-appropriate tools.
  • Lead hands-on robotics activities that encourage engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration through project-based learning.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom environment.
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials before each class.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and the Digital Dreamers program team.
  • Submit a brief after-class session report following each class.

Requirements

  • Experience working with upper elementary students (Grades 4–5) or similar age groups.
  • Experience teaching or facilitating coding, robotics, STEM, or technology-based activities.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must complete all required onboarding and school compliance training.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned school sites in San Francisco.
  • Must be available throughout the Fall 2026 program.
  • Must maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with the Digital Dreamers team.
  • Required to submit a brief after-class session report following each class.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching credential or educational background is highly preferred.
  • Experience teaching coding, robotics, computer science, or STEM enrichment programs.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Scratch, LEGO® Education robotics, or other educational robotics and coding tools.
  • Background in computer science, engineering, education, or a related field.
  • Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-driven instruction.
