Responsibilities:
As a school social worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with students K-8th graders
- Providing individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Conducting social and family assessments to identify students' needs and developing appropriate intervention plans.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and interventions that address students' specific needs.
- Connecting students and families with community resources and services to support their overall well-being.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations for supporting students' overall development.
- Advocating for students' rights and needs within the school and community.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid license or certification as a licensed social worker in the state of Ohio.
- Possess a solid understanding of social work assessment techniques and best practices in providing support to students with diverse needs.
Skills:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, applying research-based strategies to address students' academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in the field of school social work.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work
Education and Experience:
- Experience as a school social worker is preferred but not required.
Work Hours:
This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with flexible hours to accommodate students' needs.
