Health Center Assistant

As a Camp Med-o-lark Health Center Assistant, you'll be the warm, steady presence campers turn to when they're not feeling their best. Working alongside our camp nurses, you'll help keep the Health Center running smoothly—organizing medications, tracking health records, and making sure every camper who walks through the door feels cared for, comfortable, and heard. Whether you're comforting a homesick camper, prepping supplies for the day, or lending a hand during a first-aid moment, you'll play a key role in keeping our community safe, healthy, and thriving in our screen-free, non-competitive environment.

Core Responsibilities

Care with Compassion
Greet campers and staff with warmth, and be the calm, reassuring presence they need when they're feeling unwell, homesick, or just having an off day.

Support the Health Center Team
Assist camp nurses with basic first aid, routine care, and daily health needs—helping monitor and comfort sick campers resting in the Health Center.

Keep the Details Straight
Help organize and distribute daily medications under nurse supervision, maintain accurate health logs, and track camper allergy info and emergency contacts with care and discretion.

Run a Tight Ship
Keep the Health Center clean, organized, and stocked—supporting inventory management, supply orders, and administrative tasks like filing and data entry.

Show Up in a Crisis
Follow camp safety and emergency protocols, assist nurses calmly and efficiently when injuries or emergencies arise, and communicate promptly with leadership when health concerns come up.

Protect Trust
Maintain confidentiality in all health-related matters—campers, families, and staff are counting on your professionalism and discretion.
