Salado Creek Mental Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing SPRAVATO® (esketamine) Treatment Program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys providing exceptional patient care in a calm, supportive environment and values teamwork, professionalism, and patient safety.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant plays an essential role in ensuring a safe and positive treatment experience for patients receiving SPRAVATO®. Responsibilities include preparing patients for treatment, monitoring patients throughout their observation period, assisting providers, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting clinic operations while adhering to REMS and clinic protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients for SPRAVATO® treatment
- Obtain and document vital signs before, during, and after treatment
- Observe patients throughout their treatment and promptly report any concerns to the provider
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a calm and reassuring manner
- Assist providers with patient care and clinical documentation
- Maintain accurate medical records in the electronic health record
- Perform medication inventory and treatment room quality control
- Maintain compliance with SPRAVATO REMS requirements and clinic protocols
- Assist with prior authorizations, patient scheduling, and other clinical support duties as assigned
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment
Qualifications
Required
- Current Medical Assistant certification (or equivalent experience)
- Current BLS or ACLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outpatient setting
- Comfortable working with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions
- Professional, compassionate, and dependable
Preferred
- Experience in psychiatry, family medicine, emergency medicine, infusion therapy, or procedural care
- Experience obtaining insurance prior authorizations
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Familiarity with SPRAVATO®, ketamine therapy, or other monitored treatments (training provided)

Schedule
- Part-time 15-30 hours a week
- Flexible weekday schedule
- Approximately 15-30 hours per week
- No nights or major holidays
