Discovery Point Child Development Center – Lutz, FL

Discovery Point is seeking a motivated, friendly, and creative Business Development & Marketing Intern to help promote our preschool, support school events, and strengthen our connection with families and the local community. This internship is a great opportunity for someone interested in marketing, business development, early childhood education, community outreach, social media, and customer service.

The Business Development & Marketing Intern will assist with promoting Discovery Point through community events, school-hosted events, social media, family communication, and daily administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is organized, and can represent our school in a positive and professional way.

Responsibilities

  • Attend community events to promote Discovery Point and share information about our programs
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and hosting events at the school
  • Help organize student activities, themed events, and special celebrations
  • Create, schedule, and manage social media content across school platforms
  • Support marketing efforts by taking photos, creating posts, and helping highlight school activities
  • Assist with business development outreach to families, local businesses, and community partners
  • Provide tours of the school to prospective families
  • Answer phone calls, respond to questions, and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, organizing materials, and preparing event supplies
  • Help maintain a welcoming and professional front-office environment
  • Support enrollment-related communication and follow-up with interested families
  • Represent Discovery Point with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm

Qualifications

  • Availability to work 15-25 hours a week. 
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business development, communications, education, or a related field
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking with families, answering questions, and giving tours
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Creative and comfortable helping with social media content
  • Professional attitude and positive energy
  • Experience with Adobe, Instagram, Facebook, or other social media platforms is a plus
  • Must enjoy working in a child-centered environment

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, responsible, and excited to be part of a preschool environment. This person should feel comfortable interacting with families, helping promote the school, assisting with events, and supporting the Discovery Point team in both marketing and administrative tasks.
