Meek, a pioneering leader and the first African American woman elected to represent South Florida in the United States Congress. Position Overview
The Digital Storytelling for Social Impact Intern will help tell the stories behind the Carrie Meek Foundation's work through engaging digital content and creative media. The intern will create videos, social media campaigns, graphics, and visual storytelling that showcase the Foundation's impact, community partnerships, events, grantee success stories, and initiatives across its four pillars: education, health, housing, and economic development.
This internship is ideal for students passionate about using creativity, digital media, and storytelling to inspire action and create positive social change while building a professional portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
- Design branded graphics, infographics, presentations, and promotional materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools.
- Produce and edit short-form videos, reels, interviews, and multimedia content highlighting Foundation programs and community impact.
- Capture and edit photography and video content during Foundation events and community activities.
- Write compelling captions, stories, blogs, and digital copy that reflect the Foundation's mission and brand voice.
- Develop monthly content calendars and social media campaign strategies.
- Support event marketing, live event coverage, and post-event communications.
- Assist with website content updates and digital communications.
- Monitor social media performance and analytics to recommend improvements.
- Ensure all content aligns with the Foundation's branding and visual identity.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Film & Video Production, Advertising, Multimedia Design, or a related field.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign), CapCut, or similar creative tools.
- Strong storytelling, writing, and visual communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and current digital content trends.
- Basic photography and videography skills.
- Creative, organized, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for community engagement and using digital media to create social impact.
