Assistant Attorney General (Closes 8/3)

Position Overview

The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues.

Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust.

In support of this vision, the Assistant Attorney General reports directly to the General Counsel. The Legal Department's mission is to provide a full range of legal services to the Authority. To achieve this end, the incumbent will interact with various departments within the Authority, outside legal counsel, judicial, state, county, local officials, and the general public.
 

Essential Job Functions

1. Gives accurate and timely legal advice to allow the Authority to make sound decisions and plans.
2. Negotiates and drafts contracts and agreements with vendors, contractors, engineers, municipalities and others in connection with Authority business and operations.
3. Completes other assignments to, promote the best interests of the Authority within the prescribed legal guidelines.
4. Carries out the timely acquisition of property for various Authority Tollway projects.

 

Qualifications

1. College Graduate;
2. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
