Continuous Improvement Engineer

Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer drives operational excellence by leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This role focuses on identifying process inefficiencies, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing data-driven solutions to optimize performance. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process improvements, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  2. Identify areas of inefficiency and recommend solutions to streamline processes.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis to determine the source of issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of process improvements.
  5. Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
  7. Provide training and support to teams to ensure successful implementation of improvements.
  8. Troubleshoot machine losses and recommend improvements. 
  9. All other duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software
  • Strong project management skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data. 
  • Proven track record of successful process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience with process mapping and value stream mapping
  • Knowledge of Kaizen; including Standard Work, 5S, SMED, SPC, etc.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills

 

Education: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  2. Certified Lean &/or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  3. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
