About Bare Bones Soccer

Bare Bones Soccer is a Denver-based soccer community, media platform, and creative studio built around pickup games, watch parties, leagues, events, brand activations, and social-first content.

Our mission is to grow the sport in Denver and create a real home for soccer people — not just a place to play, but a community, a family, and a platform for the culture around the game.

Long term, we want Bare Bones to become a central hub for soccer in Colorado: an online media platform, a trusted creative partner for brands, and eventually a physical space where people can play, create content, watch matches, eat, drink, hang out, and belong.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Social Media & Video Content Intern who is genuinely tapped into soccer culture and understands what works online.

This person needs to stay current on American soccer, world soccer, MLS, USMNT/USWNT, the World Cup, soccer memes, player drama, fan culture, and the way soccer content moves on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

This role is a major part of our growth. Our own social media needs to be top notch so we can build trust with our community, grow our platform, and earn the right to sell content, UGC campaigns, and creative collaborations to local and national brands.

We already create content for brands and sponsors, and our goal is to keep growing that side of the business. The better our content is, the more opportunities we can create for Bare Bones, our community, and future brand partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Help create 12–24 short-form videos per month from event footage, soccer commentary, memes, trends, UGC concepts, brand content, and community moments.
  • Stay up to date on American soccer and world soccer trends, news, memes, formats, and conversations.
  • Bring content ideas based on what is happening in soccer right now.
  • Help film and capture content at Bare Bones events, pickup games, watch parties, leagues, and brand activations when available.
  • Create highlight reels, funny clips, player/community features, event recaps, sponsor content, and UGC-style videos for brand partners.
  • Help write hooks, captions, text overlays, and simple content concepts.
  • Track what performs and help us improve the content strategy each week.

Must-Haves

  • You actively follow soccer content and trends.
  • You understand American soccer culture and world soccer culture.
  • You can edit short-form videos consistently and quickly.
  • You are able to help edit 12–24 videos per week.
  • You have basic editing experience in CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, or similar tools. Can edit a variety of styles. 
  • You understand TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, hooks, captions, memes, and trend-based content.
  • You are reliable, self-starting, and able to keep up with a consistent content schedule.
  • You can attend Bare Bones events in person if you are based in Colorado.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience filming with a phone or camera.
  • Interest in sports media, soccer media, creator content, UGC, social strategy, or brand partnerships.
  • Knowledge of MLS, USMNT, USWNT, Premier League, Champions League, World Cup, soccer podcasts, and soccer meme pages.
  • Comfortable being around pickup soccer, events, and community activations.

Who This Is For

This is a great fit for someone who loves soccer, spends real time on social media, and wants hands-on experience helping build a growing sports media brand from the ground up.

We care less about your major and more about your taste, consistency, creativity, and understanding of what works online.

You’ll get real experience across sports content, short-form editing, community building, event marketing, UGC, sponsorship content, and brand partnerships. This has the opportunity to turn into a part-time or full-time role depending on the results you can help us achieve as we grow together!
