WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, you will:
- Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for interdisciplinary teams and multi-agency networks, leading logistical planning and operational coordination efforts in support of emergency response activities.
- Direct the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency response protocols, operational procedures, and guidance materials necessary to coordinate activities associated with bioterrorism incidents, technological and environmental hazards, infectious disease outbreaks, and natural disasters.
- Provide supervisory and organizational leadership to a team of emergency management professionals and exercise functional oversight of contract support personnel to ensure successful execution of programmatic and operational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Supervising and supporting the daily operations of an emergency/incident management operations center, including emergency response coordination, situational awareness, interagency communication, and operational support functions during incidents and emergencies;
- Managing development and implementation of emergency operations plans, training, and exercises to guide organizational response efforts, ensure operational readiness, and support continuity of operations; and
- Supervising design and coordination of organizational emergency preparedness planning, training, and exercise programs, applying management principles to develop training and operations-based exercises, facilitate execution, and conduct after-action reviews to advance response capabilities.
