Social Media Internship

Job Title: Social Media Internship

Role description: Contribute to the social awareness of the TogetherInWitness brand. Under the supervision of the Publicity and Marketing Manager, your role will be to support our social media and digital marketing efforts across platforms. By developing social media campaigns, you will be expected to grow our social media following and boost engagement. The time commitment is up to 5 hours/week. This is a remote and voluntary position. You’ll earn resume experience in social media content creation and marketing.

TogetherInWitness is an indie press based in Washington, D.C., committed to publishing literary works that console, celebrate, and challenge our collective consciousness. We focus on socio-conscious pieces that inspire thought and discussion. Our mission is to foster a more inclusive and understanding society through the power of the written word. 
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design social media campaigns on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Create and distribute content such as infographics, reels, and curated photos
  • Write unique and engaging captions for each post
  • Use SEO analytics to incorporate relevant hashtags for post circulation
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
  • Ensure brand message is consistent across posts and platforms

Requirements:

  • 5-7 hours/week availability (September-December 2026)
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Journalism, or a Related Field
  • Interest in social media, content creation, and digital marketing
  • Interest in social justice and activism
  • Passion for civic dialogue
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with design tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

 

The Ideal Candidate is a creative thinker and an excellent communicator. They have an eye for design and keep up with social media trends. A team player, they are willing to think outside the box to come up with content ideas and aren’t afraid of constructive feedback. They are punctual weekly meetings and communicate ahead of time when they have a conflict. The ideal candidate has the capacity to prioritize the internship alongside their academic and extracurricular responsibilities.
