Grand Center - Hope Creates - Program Assistant

The Program Assistant reports to the Program Director and assists all staff. The Program Assistant will engage in multiple areas of the organization’s operations. 

The Program Assistant will support Hope Creates in the preparation and execution of programming. The Program Assistant will be responsible for preparing and recording program surveys, maintaining physical inventory and inventory records, and assisting in the set up and tear down of various events and programs, and other tasks as needed. 

The Program Assistant will also assist with the marketing materials and social media for the Marketing Committee and Young Professionals Council.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend programming and assist with set up, food preparation, instruction assistance, tear down, and any other program tasks as they arise. This is the core function of the program assistant. 
  • Prepare for arts programming by packing art and other supplies, loading and unloading materials, and organizing supplies after programming. Supply transportation and coordination are essential to delivering successful programming. 
  • Prepare participant and instructor evaluations for each session and input responses. This creates accurate outcome data for grantors, audits, and development while informing program design. 
  • Assist with social media post design and content creation to update supporters on programming milestones and mission. This supports marketing efforts and Hope Creates’ mission to empower substance use recovery through the arts. 
  • Manage and update our donor management system to support relationships with donors and supporters and keep them informed about program accomplishments.
  • Research substance use disorder (SUD) best practices [for example, youth substance use prevention, causes of SUD (genetic, social, and behavioral), statistics on how and where SUD is impacting St. Louis, and the impact of personal narratives on recovery and prevention]. This data is incorporated into marketing materials and program design.

 

Required Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work-Study award for the current academic year.
  • Able to work some evenings and some weekends for program delivery and events
  • A high school diploma 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products, Google workspace products, Canva, and donor/customer management systems, or the aptitude to learn new software and programs
  • Managing inventory and set up/tear down are very physical tasks. Must have the ability to be on your feet up to five hours at a time and can comfortably lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis. 
  • You must possess a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • A self-starter who can take initiative and observe and solve problems as they arise
