Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Front Office Receptionist to join our busy podiatry practice. This position requires an individual who can successfully balance front office responsibilities with clinical patient care while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, able to multitask, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities
Front Office
Greet and check in/check out patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer multi-line phone system and respond to patient inquiries.
Schedule new and follow-up appointments efficiently.
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations when needed.
Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances.
Prepare and review patient charts before appointments to ensure all required documentation, imaging, referrals, and authorizations are complete.
Maintain accurate patient demographics and medical records in the EMR.
Scan and upload medical records and other documentation.
Clinical
Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain medical history, medications, allergies, and vital signs.
Assist the physician during examinations and in-office procedures.
Prepare examination rooms and treatment supplies.
Sterilize instruments and maintain OSHA and infection control standards.
Educate patients on treatment plans and post-procedure instructions.
Coordinate referrals, imaging orders, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and EMR systems is preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the workday.
