Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Thermal SQA Technician to support thermal testing, validation, and laboratory operations for innovative hardware systems. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, contribute to thermal test execution, and gain hands-on experience with hardware-software integration, thermal measurement methodologies, and test development in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Must-Have Technical/Functional Skills
Skills
Experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
Understanding of thermal measurement methodologies, including thermocouple placement, acquiring readings using automated data acquisition systems, and thermocouple rework.
Ability to conduct tests and summarize data effectively.
Basic machine shop experience and use of hand tools (Dremel tools, hand drills, files, metal sheers, basic soldering skills, etc.).
Experience with Terminal and a Unix command-line environment.
Elementary coding/scripting experience (Unix Shell or Python), along with software troubleshooting and debugging skills.
LabVIEW experience is a plus and considered a nice-to-have skill.
Responsibilities
Support the setup, deployment, and maintenance of test devices and fixtures for use in testing across different controlled environments ranging from 10°C to 55°C.
Build models and assist in the disassembly, modification, and reassembly of systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute software-hardware test plans and procedures.
Create test reports, data summaries, and documentation of test results.
Contribute to the development and implementation of thermal test methods based on feedback from the design team.
Support thermal lab management activities, including organization of lab space and equipment.
Handle prototype hardware while adhering to established protocols for managing sensitive units.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
