SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate California Teaching Credentials (Specialist Instruction in Special Education for Learning Handicapped Mild-Moderate or Moderate-Severe and AASE-Autism Certificate); Multiple Subject desired.
• CLAD or Alternative Credential/Certification

✰   Teachers whose lessons engage all students as active learners in the subject

✰   Teachers who are able to establish positive relations with students, parents and staff

✰   Teachers who reflect and self-evaluate techniques and classroom activities

✰   Teachers who possess in-depth knowledge of subject areas to be taught

✰   Teachers who can work cooperatively with other adults in the school environment 

✰   Teachers who maintain positive classroom discipline 

✰   Teachers who provide lessons which promote student self-esteem
