Wastewater Field Tech
Job Summary
AST Filters is seeking an Entry-Level Wastewater Field Technician to support the preparation, installation, shipment, startup, and operation of wastewater treatment systems. This role requires direct interaction with customers to coordinate the implementation and commissioning of AST Filters equipment at customer facilities. Along with hands on installation and preparation/refurbishment of the fleet of pilot units.
The Field Technician will provide operator training, technical support, and troubleshooting assistance to ensure successful system performance and customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to solve technical problems are essential for success in this role.
In addition to field service responsibilities, the Field Technician will support research and development initiatives by utilizing 3D modeling software and rapid prototyping technologies to advance AST Filter's bead filtration and water treatment solutions. The successful candidate will assist with equipment design improvements, prototype development, testing, and documentation.
Job Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in hands-on technical work including plumbing, working with hand tools, and carpentry.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, pumps, valves, piping, electrical controls, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and operating manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical expertise in water and wastewater treatment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.
