SpeakEasy Stage Company - Fall Internships
SpeakEasy internships are an excellent way to learn more about the workings of a mid-sized professional theatre company through hands-on experience and mentorship.
Applications for Fall 2026 internships will be due July 24, 2026 by 5pm EST.
ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIPS:
Administrative Interns gain exposure to all facets of managing a mid-sized non-profit theatre company, working closely with the Artistic, Development, Marketing, and Production departments as they:
- Prepare dramaturgical and marketing materials for upcoming productions
- Coordinate and assist with special events, readings, and benefits
- Lay the groundwork for donor and audience engagement initiatives
- Read and Assess play scripts for season consideration
- Build relationship with audiences and volunteers
Interns will be expected to help with general office duties, and to take on and manage a wide variety of necessary tasks throughout the semester. Candidates with a passion and love of theatre, solid writing and computer skills, and an outgoing and enthusiastic personality will be the best fit for this position. Arts Administrative internships are directly supervised by Alex Lonati, Director of Artistic & Community Programs.

DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIPS:
Development Interns assist SpeakEasy’s Development team as they:
- Learn more about the business and financial fundamentals of running a non-profit theatre company
- Work in our donor software platform to acknowledge donors and help maintain the database.
- Research potential grant opportunities and assist in the proposal process.
- Aid in SpeakEasy’s June appeal fundraiser, assist in database management in our eTapestry Software, and assist with special event planning.
Candidates for this internship should be motivated, with good people skills, computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office and have an interest in special event planning, fundraising, and business management. The ideal applicant will possess superior writing skills and an excitement around the inner workings of a theatre company. Some graphic design experience is preferable. Development internships are directly supervised by Erin Davis, Development Manager.
