Graphic & Web Designer

APPLICATION PERIOD WILL CLOSE JULY 10, 2026

This individual will be responsible for interning in graphic design for client and internal projects, as deemed necessary by either Helm and/or The Story Factory. This individual also assists with design for client events & community events within The Story Factory and for Helm, as needed. Design files should be completed using guidelines/file types provided for each project, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Video Templates. Once completed, packaged files (along with all final assets) should be uploaded to the Google Drive folder, including files able to be edited, with permissions granted to both the Owner and Account Manager. 

Essential Functions: The following are the current responsibilities for this position. All tasks will be updated in Monday.com (our Project Management Software):

  • Graphic Design consisting of and not limited to logos, print work, merchandise, collateral, marketing materials, websites, video content, and social media 
  • Filling and editing approved templates with photos, names, and other promotional content 
  • Updating current sales & marketing documents, as needed 
  • Designing marketing templates (Including for virtual events, social media, emails, campaigns, and websites, etc.) 
  • Creating one sheets/sponsor guides using templates & update cover, fonts, color and logo(s)
  • Updating websites in Squarespace and WordPress
  • Updating and editing photos, when needed. ***Research and source royalty-free photos for filler content, as needed. The expectation is also to edit photos provided by our creative crew (so that they don’t look like they were just posted straight from a phone’s photo library). 
     

Competency: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Google Drive/Workspace

Work Environment: Most work is to be performed either onsite at The Story Factory or remote.  

Physical Demands: The physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and driving

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional changes in schedule due to client needs or projects. 

Travel: Travel for this position is TBD based on client projects. Most travel happens within 100 miles of Philadelphia, PA (New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C.). However, you may be required to travel a further distance, depending on the project. You will be informed if a passport, immunizations, or further travel documents, etc. are required. Travel reimbursement and guidelines can be found in our travel & reimbursement policy. This position requires reliable transportation (with a level of comfort driving within the city) and housing based in or around Philadelphia.
