Job Overview: CPC Advisors is seeking an Investment Research & Trading Associate to support the firm's investment research, portfolio management, and trading functions. This role will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and investment team to monitor portfolios, research investment opportunities, execute trades, maintain models, and improve the tools and processes that support CPC's investment platform.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail oriented, comfortable working with data, and interested in using technology to make investment workflows more efficient and scalable. Strong Excel, Python, automation, and AI-assisted development skills are valued because they can help improve portfolio analysis, research, trading, reporting, and day-to-day execution.
Primary duties include:
• Execute mutual fund, ETF, equity, fixed income, and other security trades through CPC's trading platforms
• Analyze portfolios for potential adjustments based on client objectives, risk tolerance, tax considerations, and model allocations
• Research and monitor mutual funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income, and alternative investments
• Support investment committee work, manager research, portfolio construction, performance reviews, and model maintenance
• Develop and maintain practical tools using Python, Excel, AI-assisted coding, and other resources to improve research, trading, data analysis, reporting, and automation
• Help identify and implement process improvements across research, trading, and portfolio management workflows
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Strong interest in investment management, markets, research, portfolio construction, and trading
• Coding, data analysis, or technical background preferred, including Python experience and comfort using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets; SQL, APIs, VBA, R, or similar tools are a plus
• Willingness and ability to obtain SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 after hire
• Interest in CFA, CFP, CAIA, CIMA, CPA, or similar credentials preferred
• Ability to work from CPC's Midtown Atlanta office
