Outpatient Coder

Responsible for the complete, accurate and timely assignment of diagnostic and operative procedure codes and the assignment of the appropriate and optimal DRG and APC for all patient medical records both concurrently and at the time of discharge.

Qualifications:

Must be accredited as CPC- Certified Professional Coder/AAPC, CCS - Certified Coding Specialist/AHIMA, CCS-P – Certified Coding Specialist Physician Practice, RHIT – Registered Health Information Technician/AHIMA or RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator/AHIMA. Must maintain continued education credits and AAPC or AHIMA membership.
