JESPY House is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and adaptable House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of our residential group homes supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Job Purpose
- Under the supervision of the Residential Services Manager, the House Manager serves individuals with learning, developmental, and behavioral health disabilities through direct support/case management; positive direction; and advocacy in the community on behalf of and with the client. This position provides oversight of all household day-to-day activities, i.e., staff scheduling and management, food shopping, and housekeeping, assuring best practices are implemented for all tasks. All are accomplished in accordance with JESPY program policies and procedures.
- The client is the focus of services. The House Manager assesses the client initially and on an ongoing basis to identify the current level of care and service gaps. The Manager coordinates services accordingly, as clients’ needs change.
- This position provides case management as the hub of all client services, i.e., promotes money management skills and program activities. Tasks include teaching clients to develop and maintain budgets, use of banking services, and planning for major purchases. The House Manager completes ledgers, reconciles accounts, and assists with spending choices. The House Manager gradually promotes the client’s ability to assume mastery of personal financial matters and community integration. This position also manages client medical appointments and medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of all household activities within the assigned house, assuring timely and best practice of all tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to: Client recreational activities within and outside of JESPY House, House monthly menu and appropriate client responsibilities within the home, providing written instructions for staff regarding specifics of DLS for each client as needed. Staff Carelogic/EHR notes are being entered appropriately and on time and are indicative of the plan of care.
- Assist the Facilities Department in coordinating the work of contractors, service people, artisans, and all other household employees, and non-household employees, assuring the best quality of work, and adherence to all household standards and expectations. Ensure that the Facilities Department is contacted promptly when maintenance-related issues arise. While the House Manager may not always be the individual to contact Facilities regarding a maintenance issue, it IS the responsibility of the House Manager to ensure that staff is appropriately contacting Facilities as necessary and following up with the issue.
- When necessary, assist in coordinating annual inspections for clients living in the home.
- Provide leadership in guiding staff to adhere to policy and procedures of JESPY.
- Training of all staff, including documentation, agency policies and procedures, etc.
- Provide shift coverage as needed in emergency situations where staffing is unable to be secured in any building under Residential Services (i.e., The Residence, Independence, Friendship, Liberty, Laurie or Och Houses). This coverage may be during timeframes outside of the House Manager’s normal work hours. This includes, but is not limited to evenings, weekends & overnights.
- Complete monthly staffing schedule for assigned house. Collaborate with fellow house managers and Department Manager & Supervisor to find coverage for any potential openings as needed within the department (due to call-outs, scheduled staff PTO Days, etc.). While it is the responsibility of the assigned House Manager to find coverage, it is expected that all managers & supervisors within Residential Services work together as a team in order to find appropriate coverage for any of the assigned buildings in the department.
- Assist with monitoring of financials of clients and household budget. i.e., food shopping, distribution of funds to clients, etc.
•Complete all duties assigned to Case Manager. Communicate as needed with CBS Manager/Supervisor as required. - Communicate effectively and professionally with all JESPY House stakeholders (i.e., clients, family members, JESPY staff, JESPY House contractors) as well as any additional entities related to the client’s care & services (i.e., Day programs not run by JESPY House, hospitals, medical personnel, etc)
Essential Functions
- Preparation and implementation of yearly ISP

- Develop and supervise client budgets
- In conjunction and collaboration with the business office, manage house budgets based on projections and set allocations for the fiscal year
- Assist in planning weekend activities
- Prepare weekly/monthly household meal plans focused on healthy nutritional practices
- Supervise all regular & temp DLS staff working in assigned building.
- Transport clients when required
- Ensure all yearly & routine medical appointments are scheduled & attended, with proper documentation completed
- Monitor client medication, staff supervision of client medication, ensuring compliance with state and agency medication policies and procedures.
- Provide department coverage as needed
- Refer clients for outside services as needed
- Complete and submit emails to Facilities for building repair as needed.
- Communicate with any individuals on the Crisis Unit and follow Crisis Unit policy; The House Manager also is required to be on call for Crisis Unit based on the Crisis Unit Policy
- Cooperates with Licensee or DDD staff in any inspection or investigation
- Must check email and voicemail daily

- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of yearly Residential Services Budget with respect to the assigned House/building & with the oversight of the Residential Services Manager

- Reports and/or documents, in a concise, understandable, and legible manner in the electronic health record (EHR). Case notes need to demonstrate a direct relationship to the achievement of treatment goals as defined in the ISP or the Annual Case Evaluation. Completion of daily logs, accident reports, incident reports, outcome data sheets and all appropriate Agency and government forms are to be done in a timely manner. Case Manager takes the lead in convening the Annual Case Evaluation meeting
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in the social services field is helpful or 5 years’ related experience
Work Experience Requirement
Five years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Salaried
Monday-Friday (Hours may vary)
Availability of some evenings, weekends and overnight in emergency situations when staff coverage is unavailable.
Special Working Conditions/Physical/Requirements – Working Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Must be available for coverage on some weekends, overnights and after 5pm when required.
- Valid driving license is required
