TAX INTERN
ABOUT THE POSITION
Position Summary
Tax Interns provide support to the Accounting Department during tax filing periods and on project-based work. Interns should use their existing skills to provide efficiencies within the department as well as hone their operational skills for further work in the Accounting field.
Management/reporting responsibilities
This position has no direct reports and reports to a manager.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of personal, business, and informational tax returns.
Assist in the processing flow of personal tax returns.
Assisting Staff and Senior Accountants with project-based work
This job description may be changed to include new responsibilities and tasks or change existing ones as management deems necessary for employee or firm development.
Worksite location & conditions
This position may be based in Rochester, Perry or Amherst, NY.
This position will be between fifteen (15) and forty (40) hours per week, with additional hours as needed.
Regular travel will not be required.
Compensation
$22/hour
ABOUT YOU
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Working toward a Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Completion of at least 1 accounting course is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year experience in the Accounting field preferred.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong work ethic and team player.
High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to assimilate to new programs.
Desire to develop and build client relationships, providing a positive client experience as well as to foster the overall growth of Allied CPAs, PC.
