Assistant Account Manager

Salary Range  $60-80k plus bonuses

Hybrid Position- Chicago, IL

At Becker's Healthcare, we are committed to delivering trusted news and insights to healthcare executives and clinicians every day. As a rapidly growing multimedia and events firm, we bring the healthcare industry together through cutting-edge digital content, podcasts, executive advisory boards, print publications, and immersive live and virtual event experiences.

We're hard at work building the #1 multimedia company in healthcare by moving fast, thinking big, and continually raising the bar. To help us get there, we're looking for an Assistant Account Manager to support our daily sales operations and strengthen relationships with both current and prospective clients across our events, publications, and services. If you're driven, organized, and energized by a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with our sales team to serve long-standing clients, nurturing relationships built on continuity and trust.
  • Create, edit, and finalize sales proposals, contracts, presentations, and supporting materials.
  • Keep sales operations running smoothly — managing meeting prep, follow-ups, and schedules for internal teams and client meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between sales, editorial, production, and client services to ensure campaigns and sponsorships are delivered seamlessly.
  • Build and nurture new and existing relationships through thoughtful outreach and personalized follow-up.
  • Manage ongoing client communications and regular check-ins focused on retention, growth, and new opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records in our CRM to support pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Support the development of sales collateral — media kits, rate cards, one-sheets, and custom proposals.
  • Assist with lead generation and market research, identifying new prospects and tracking industry trends.
  • Help coordinate contract and billing processes, from routing and signatures through invoicing and payment.
  • Contribute to post-campaign summaries and sales reporting to inform future strategy.

What the day-to-day really looks like

This is a high-volume, high-energy role, and we're upfront about that. Especially early on, you'll be running a heavy cadence of outreach — emails, calls, and messages — paired with real, two-way conversations that build relationships and a brand in your segment. We're an intensely metrics-oriented team, but the goal isn't activity for its own sake: it's results. As you ramp and your book of business grows, the mix shifts from sheer volume toward more meaningful meetings and deeper client relationships. Approved tools like automated email sequences and dialers help you work efficiently, and all activity is tracked so you and your manager can keep doubling down on what's driving results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3–4 years of experience in sales or a related client-facing role
  • A motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growing business
  • Comfort with CRM tools and Google Workspace
  • Strong multitasking skills and the energy to manage several projects at once

You're likely a fit if you…

  • Are ambitious with a team-first mindset
  • Get energized by tracking metrics and hitting goals
  • Solve problems independently and find answers on your own
  • Bring a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm to tasks big and small
  • Have a strong work ethic and want to grow into greater responsibility
  • Love taking initiative and always find a way to get it done
