Employment Type: Full-Time 183 Day Contract

School Year: 2026-2027

Position Summary

Juab High School is seeking an outstanding, student-centered Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join their faculty. This educator will teach upper-level mathematics courses, including Calculus and Concurrent Enrollment mathematics courses, while fostering a rigorous, engaging, and supportive learning environment that prepares students for college and career success.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, a passion for mathematics, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction.
• Teach Calculus and Concurrent Enrollment mathematics courses aligned with district and partnering institution expectations.
• Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional activities that promote critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Utilize assessment data to guide instructional decisions.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress.
• Collaborate with department members, instructional coaches, counselors, and administrators.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain a positive classroom culture that supports student achievement and respectful behavior.
• Supervise students during assigned duties and extracurricular activities as required.
• Comply with all district policies, Utah State Board of Education requirements, and applicable Concurrent Enrollment expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Utah Professional Educator License or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• Secondary Mathematics endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 4 Secondary Mathematics Endorsement preferred.
• Experience teaching Calculus.
• Experience teaching Concurrent Enrollment mathematics courses.
• Ability to meet concurrent enrollment instructor qualifications established by Juab School District and its partnering institution of higher education. Utah requires the appropriate mathematics endorsement, and Concurrent Enrollment instructors must also meet partner institution approval requirements.
• Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field is preferred.
