Adaptive Intern II

SUMMARY: The Adaptive Program Internship will be an integral part of the planning and execution of programs and events at various facilities and locations in Carrollton as well as trips within the DFW area. The intern will work daily with individuals with special needs. They will assist in program execution and assist recreation coordinators with the tasks of various programs with attendees. This Intern will assist with the daily duties and development of the current month’s schedule. The intern will set up rooms and gather materials needed for the day. The intern will also assist in maintaining reports and simple data entry regarding participation as well as running the daily operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing, and evaluating adaptive programs, trips, and events.
  • Maintains and updates a variety of records and data collection.
  • Learn the daily operations including but not limited to: tours, opening/closing procedures, programs and event spaces.
  • Aid front desk and guest service to the general public, which includes providing tours, answering telephones, and/or performing other related activities.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in a variety of meetings, seminars, conferences, training sessions, and/or other related events.
  • Assists with special events, which includes: setting up and tearing down for events; ensuring applicable equipment and supplies are readily available; and/or, performing other related activities.
  • Publicizes, markets, and promotes programs using a variety of media sources; oversees the distribution and/or dissemination of promotional materials.
  • Monitors guests utilizing of the facility.      Identifies and resolves potentially hazardous situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications: College or university student currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program.
