GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN ISAC (GSC-ISAC) - Information Sharing & Analysis Center
INTERNSHIP JOB DESCRIPTION:
TITLE:
Global Supply Chain Critical Infrastructure & Community Resilience - Supply Chain Risks & Challenges Research Project
Understanding Global Supply Chain Resilience Risks and Challenges:
- Within and Across Critical Infrastructure Sectors: Chemical, Commercial Facilities, Communication, Dems, Defense, Emergency Services, Energy, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Food & Agriculture, Government Services, Healthcare and Public Health, Information Technology, Transportation, Water/Wastewater
- Across Security Domains - Physical, Geospatial (Undersea, Terrestrial Earth, Climate/Extreme Weather, Space), Cyber, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cyber-Physical.
- Threat and Defensive Measures Intelligence- Information Sharing, Analysis, and Response
Research Purpose:
Students will investigate real world supply chain challenges projected for 2027 and produce professional quality products including, but not limited to: briefings, reports, infographics, flow diagrams, interdependency charts, policy memos, data visualization, fact sheets, or regulatory review.
Global Supply Chain Critical Infrastructure and Community Resilience Goal- Understand how supply chains operate within and across critical infrastructure sectors, and how they intersect with and are impacted by national security, potential geopolitical and geospatial events, security domains, commerce, incident response, etc. Contribute to operationalizing Supply Chain Critical Infrastructure & Community Resilience
Student Learning Outcomes:
By completing this project, students will be able to:
- Explain 2027 and beyond supply chain challenge using evidence-based research.
- Analyze sector, sub-sector, and cross sector impacts (energy, transportation, communications, maritime, etc.).
- Evaluate how federal agencies (DHS, CBP, USCG, Commerce) influence supply chain resilience.
- Evaluate how state, local, tribal and territorial agencies influence supply chain resilience
- Create professional products that communicates findings clearly and visually.
Recommend realistic resilience strategies to operationalize Supply Chain Resilience - a public-private partnership
Research Topics:
Students will choose one of the following twelve (12) Research Topics to serve on the Research Topic Team that will include interfacing with other Research Topic Teams:
