Description of Position:

The Instructor/LeadTrainer for the Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Program is responsible for delivering comprehensive, high-quality instruction that prepares students to become professional yoga instructors across private, institutional, and clinical settings. The instructor integrates the philosophical, physical, and holistic dimensions of yoga while fostering a learning environment grounded in professional standards, ethics, and student-centered teaching practices.This position requires expertise in both traditional yoga practices and scientific foundations in movement, including human anatomy and physiology, to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-informed instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;

2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;

3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;

4. meeting with students outside of class;

5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;

6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;

7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;

8. maintaining accurate academic records;

9. performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:

EDUCATION:

Master's degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent

• Yoga Alliance Certification by a recognized registered yoga school

• CPR and First Aid Certification

• Online teaching experience (Canvas or other learning management systems)

Meeting Minimum Qualifications to teach in Kinesiology department which includes: Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education,ORbachelor's in any of the above AND master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapyORthe equivalent.
