Sourcing Intern

Responsibilities

  • Own system data for a set of components to facilitate semiautomated procurement through an Advanced Supply Chain Procurement model in the Oracle ERP
  • Process purchase orders and purchasing requests for Wind Turbine components
  • Collaborate with production, design/manufacturing/configuration engineering, strategic sourcing, suppliers, and accounts payable to support efficient procurement processes
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen for Lean process improvements within the sourcing and supply chain function
  • Manage procurement KPIs for a set of components to ensure OTD to factory
  • Coordinate cut-in plans for Engineering Change Orders across the supply chain
  • Assist with expediting urgent part deliveries and coordinating incoming shipments
  • Support inventory management activities by monitoring production inventory levels to help prevent supply disruptions
  • Assist in evaluating historical inventory usage and demand trends to support purchasing and material planning

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current full-time UWF student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Junior or Senior standing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment
  • Develop an understanding of MRO procurement, inventory planning, and supply chain operations
  • Develop practical knowledge of supply chain processes that prepare students for careers in sourcing, procurement, materials planning, and operations management
